with phantom power, making and breaking a powered connection sends an unpleasant pop to the mixer and every channel listening. there’s a few ways around it. one is to not use phantom power at all, which is what i’m going with, attaching a shure SM11 dynamic lav. so, when my boom op hits the button to talk, ideally we won’t get the pop. guess we’ll find out in testing!
